Maria has babysat for us three times, the first time when our lo was just 4 months old. The first time we wanted Maria to get to know and meet our lo, so we stayed home that evening and got on with life admin while Maria played with the baby and attempted to calm her for sleep. Our lo is a bad sleeper but Maria coped really well with all the crying! So we felt reassured Maria and our lo would be OK the next time we went out, and they were!
